The people who guide every build.

A small, hands-on team with low class sizes, so you are never just a number at the bench. Every session is guided start to finish.

One workshop, one team.

KJ leads every workshop. The rest of the team work alongside him so there is always an experienced pair of hands close by, whatever you are making.

KJ
Head Instructor

KJ

A professional jazz musician who once taught at Yamaha Music School, KJ leads the workshop floor and sets the pace for every class. He is happiest with a problem to solve, and since everyone else assists him, his eye is on the room whatever you are building.

DT
Assistant Instructor

Did Tsun

A voice actor and trained performer (you may have caught him in LK School Daze or Akedo), Did Tsun brings the same mix of play and precision to the bench. A swordsman who loves tinkering and building things, he is calm under a deadline and good at unsticking a tricky joint.

AN
Assistant Instructor

Alia Nadhira

An artist at heart, Alia leads our Junior Woodworker classes and school field trips, guiding younger makers through their first cuts and finishes. Encouraging by nature, she breaks each step down so nothing ever feels intimidating.

AY
Assistant Instructor

Andrew Yeong

Andrew spent years in community work, including helping build homes for Orang Asli families with EPIC Homes, and now works in creative strategy. Vibrant but calm, he helps students move from rough idea to finished piece, with a soft spot for clean lines and careful sanding.

JC
Assistant Instructor

Jason Cheong

After years running his own dental practice, Jason traded the clinic for the workshop and has not looked back. A keen home-DIY-er who loves sharing what he learns, he is steady, safety-minded, and easy to ask for help on your first time on a machine.

R
Assistant Instructor

Rahilah

Rahilah led youth programmes at Leaderonomics before joining the bench, and she brings that same energy for events, new experiences, and helping people learn. Full of ideas and warmth, she is especially good at turning a wobble into a win with younger makers and first-timers.

QP
Assistant Instructor

Q-Pei

Q-Pei is the one who makes everyone feel welcome and keeps the workshop running in order. A natural host and expert coordinator, she has an eye for the details that make a project feel truly finished.

ML
Assistant Instructor

Matt La Brooy

Matt spent years in film visual effects, including work as a matchmove technical director on Hollywood productions like X-Men: First Class, and now does digital work for corporate clients. A maker who loves building real things away from the screen, he helps students think a project through before the first cut, then stays close while they bring it to life.

J
Co-founder

Jon

Jon co-founded KitaBina to put real tools and real making back into people's hands. He also designs indoor wooden playgrounds with Modle, and earlier co-founded EPIC Homes, building houses alongside Orang Asli communities. You will find him more at the bench than behind a desk.

Small classes, always guided.

Low ratios, max 6 to 1We keep class sizes small so every maker gets real attention, not a quick wave from across the room.
